We are characterised by small businesses and have a well established entrepreneurial spirit. Our municipality is home to about 400 significant companies.
The local authority Forshaga Municipality is the largest employer with about 800 employees (full-time equivalents). Between 10 and 20 businesses employ 10 to 50 people, but the main part of our business sector consists of closed companies with just a few employees. The largest company is Stora Enso Packaging Board. Other large companies in the municipality are Forshaga Svets & Smide AB, Montagetjänst Bodin & Co, ForshagaAkademin, Mölnbacka Ungdomshem AB, ICA Supermarket, Forshaga, Forshaga Dentaldepå AB, and Klarälvsgården.The fields represented most are healthcare, rehabilitation of young people and dental technology. The education sector has also expanded thanks to the upper secondary school ForshagaAkademin.
